Sustainability Technologies from Labs to Markets 

Speaker: Professor Yi Cui of Stanford University 

Dr. Yi Cui is a professor at Stanford University, director of the Stanford sustainability accelerator and former director of Precourt Institute. He is a member of National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Cui has also been an entrepreneur and founder of more than 5 tech companies. There are at least 5 unicorns came out of the lab of Yi Cui and his students. 

In this talk, Professor Yi Cui will discuss the journey of moving technologies from lab to market, particularly focusing on the development and commercialization of advanced batteries and energy-related solutions. Using experiences from founding 5 technology companies, he will share insights on collaboration and scaling, how to focus on cost and viability, what are the global challenges facing technology entrepreneurs, and the importance of mentoring and inspiration from solving the grand challenges facing society.
