Our guest speaker is Edward Kim, who is a co-founder of KKL, a boutique litigation firm in New York City with global practice. Ed recently served as the Acting United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, where he oversaw all litigation conducted on behalf of the United States and supervised more than 450 lawyers, investigators, and staff across the SDNY’s criminal and civil divisions. During his time as a federal prosecutor, Ed oversaw numerous investigations and prosecutions involving allegations of national security investigations, including violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), as well as theft of trade secrets and many others. Ed is an accomplished trial lawyer who has briefed and argued numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has represented multinational companies in complex civil disputes and enforcement actions, and individuals in criminal and regulatory matters involving allegations of national security violations, theft of trade secrets, securities and financial fraud, cryptocurrency fraud, insider trading, healthcare fraud, and money laundering. He has successfully conducted numerous internal investigations. Ed obtained a JD from Harvard Law School.
